Recipe for a classic Swiss roll

Recipe for a classic Swiss roll

Who like sweet ?  😁

Most of people a bit worry to eat sweet food, but I think you will agree if All dessert mostly sweet and delicious 😋 , here's a recipe how to make one of my favorite dessert 👉

- 6 large eggs

- 150g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar

- 150g (3/4 cup) all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 6 tablespoons strawberry jam

- Powdered sugar for dusting

👉 Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

👉 In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar together until pale, fluffy, and tripled in volume. It should leave a trail when the beaters are lifted.

👉 Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into the mixing bowl with the egg mixture. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the eggs using a spatula, taking care not to deflate the mixture too much.

👉 Stir in the vanilla extract until everything is well combined.

👉 Pour the batter onto the lined baking sheet and spread it out evenly using a spatula.

👉 Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cake is lightly golden and springs back when lightly touched.

👉 While the cake is still warm, lay a clean kitchen towel flat on a work surface and dust it generously with powdered sugar.

👉 Carefully invert the cake onto the powdered sugar-dusted towel and peel off the parchment paper.

👉 Starting at one end, gently roll up the cake along with the towel. The towel will be rolled up within the cake, helping it retain its shape.

👉 Leave the rolled cake on the towel to cool completely.

👉 Once cooled, carefully unroll the cake and spread the strawberry jam (or any other desired filling) over the surface.

👉 Re-roll the cake tightly, without the towel this time. Use the kitchen towel to help you roll it up neatly.

👉 Transfer the Swiss roll onto a serving plate and dust with powdered sugar.

👉 Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before slicing and serving.

Enjoy your homemade Swiss roll!
