Recipe for Sour and spicy fish

Hi mom...  this time I will give you a recipe how to cook fish.. any fish you can cook with this recipe ,  with sour and spicy gravy , nice to eat with hot white rice .

Looks like curry but we don't need to add coconut milk , we change with tamarind water for get a sour taste. 

Here's the recipe 👉


1 kg catfish, cut into pieces

2 stalks crushed lemongrass

A thumb of crushed galangal, 3 lime leaves

10 cayenne peppers

1 tomato cut into pieces

Oil for frying 

2 glasses of tamarind water

Salt, sugar and seasoning to taste

Ground spices :

10 cloves of red onion

 5 cloves of garlic

A pinch of ginger and turmeric

2 candlenuts

12 red chilies 

How to make:

1. Saute ground spices with bay leaves, lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal until fragrant, add clean water. 

2. Once the water boils, add salt,

sugar, flavorings, and tamarind  water ,then let it boil.

again add the catfish, tomatoes and round small chilis for make the colour more fresh.

We called it ikan patin 
You can also cook with another kind of fish that you like.

Maybe you wonder why the fish no need to fry first, you maybe worry will smell fishy ... no mom, because the ingredients is enough to reduce the fishy smell .. so don't worry.
